Almost every town has some sort of festival or celebration, and it would be nearly impossible to cover them all. The holiday spirit is infectious, especially in the following towns. Each year, these places await their time to shine, dazzle, and delight guests of all ages. Take a look at the following Christmas towns in Missouri and enjoy the most wonderful time of the year!
Every year, the charming town of St. Charles celebrates the holidays in a huge way, with the festivities happening all throughout the entire month leading up to Christmas. During the town's annual Christmas Traditions Festival, the historic town is filled with wandering carolers, Santas from around the world, and beautiful holiday décor accompanying great shopping and dining opportunities. The Holiday Kissing Ball, a big bundle of mistletoe, holly, and ribbon, is a great tradition at the Kister Park Gazebo, and the gingerbread village and chances to meet Santa are sure to excite the young ones. Although you may have missed the official lighting this year, the Plaza lights continue to illuminate 15 city blocks daily through January. We visit our favorite Christmas village, climb aboard a sleigh ride or a Christmas train ride, and drink in the sheer magnificence of the Christmas lights that illuminate the entire state. While snow this early in the winter can be hit-or-miss, we don't need it. And in fact, if you're looking to enjoy some of the best Christmas lights and towns in Missouri by foot, you'll be grateful the weather outside isn't too frightful! So bundle up, grab a mug of hot cocoa, and enjoy this cozy season of festive fun with those you love most.
What are the best holiday events in Missouri?
If you're dazzled by twinkling lights andenchantingChristmas displays, you'll be delighted by the festive offerings in Missouri. A treasured holiday tradition for many Missourians is going to see the Christmas lights at one of the many drive-thru or walk-thru Christmas lights displays. Slip on your comfiest pair of PJs (if you want) for a one-of-a-kind train ride that includes cookies, hot chocolate, and readings of the book that inspired the Polar Express train rides. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be along for the ride and to meet and pose for photos with passengers.
